Motorcycle training teaches motorcycle riders the skills for riding on public roads. It is the equivalent of driver’s education for car drivers. Training beyond basic qualification and licensing is available to those whose duty includes motorcycle riding, such as police, and additional rider courses are offered for street riding refreshers, sport riding, off-road techniques, and developing competitive skills for the motorcycle racetrack.
Motorcycling is a high-risk activity, and the most vulnerable riders are new ones. Protecting yourself with proper safety gear is an easy way to save yourself from injury.
The skills you’ll learn will last you a lifetime, and Naples Motorcycle Riding School instructors will educate you with fundamental skills that will make you a better, more competent rider.
While the topic of motorcycle safety is profoundly serious, the Rider Course is designed to be quite enjoyable. A primary concern in this course is your safety and learning. That is a responsibility shared by everyone. Rider Coaches will facilitate your development by using interactive classroom activities. On the range you will be coached in a way that guides your development in acquiring basic motorcycle maneuvering skills. You are not competing with anyone else in this course, so focus on your own learning experience. The Basic Rider Course is designed to allow you to learn at your own pace. If you have significant difficulty acquiring these new skills, your Rider Coach(es) will help you learn to the best of your ability.
Upon successful completion of the course, graduates are exempt from further motorcycle testing at the Division of Drivers License Office and may be entitled to insurance premium discounts through participating insurance companies.
Even if you’ve been riding for some time, there’s always something new to learn. Increasing numbers of seasoned riders are flocking to our Experienced Rider Course to hone their skills and fine-tune the mental skills needed for survival in traffic.
The course consists of activities that emphasize personal risk management and self-assessment strategies, and on-cycle exercises with emphasis in cornering, braking and swerving. You will also discuss with your peers how to balance the mental and physical aspects of safe riding, manage risk, increase visibility and optimize your lane position.
The Experienced Rider Course also covers protective gear, rider responsibility, motorcycle inspection and care, the effects of alcohol and other drugs on riding, and includes an optional skill evaluation and knowledge test.
Upon successful completion of the course, graduates earn a MSF Basic Rider Course 2 completion card and may be entitled to insurance premium discounts through participating insurance companies.
